Initial Consultation Lessons are an hour and $60. Students may then choose between any of the following individual lessons lengths below.
Private Lessons are typically 60 minutes in length. 30 minute lessons are also available.
Online Consultation
I am happy to provide individual guidance online so that students may continue to explore the principles of the Alexander Technique in the safety of their home.
As per Alexander Technique Canada’s/CANSTAT’s standards of practice, it is important to note that while online lessons do provide the exciting opportunity to learn about AT principles, they do not replace the tactile hands-on skills provided by an AT teacher.
Courses
I offer several courses and packages which are economical. Monthly courses and packages are paid upfront before the first lesson.

What Happens in the Lesson?
In the lesson, I will help you optimize your movements. To do this, you will learn how to recognize and change your unique postural habits as well as ease muscle tension patterns being held throughout your body. I will use my hands to guide your movements in simple day to day activities like walking, sitting, working at a chair, and mobilizing the arms and legs independently from your torso. As you learn to coordinate your body with greater awareness and skill, we will explore more complex movement patterns.
Why are Lessons Private?
Alexander Technique Teachers recognize that every student’s needs, interests, and learning styles are different. Lessons become tailored specifically to them. In a private lesson, a teacher is able to provide ample quality, individualized, hands-on work that simply cannot be replicated in detail or duration in large group classes. Many students also find the private lesson setting to be a safer space for them to learn and discover easier ways of working with every day habits.
What Should I Wear in the Lesson?
Feel free to wear something comfortable while allowing for free range of movement. Denim may not be the most optimal, but ultimately the choice is yours!
What is Table Work?
It often comes as a surprise to new students that Alexander Teachers have special tables (massage tables) in their studios. It comes as an even greater surprise that they are not used for massage purposes. During table work, students learn how to stop off unconscious muscle tension with their backs against a firm surface. It is easier for many students to find integrated movement and ease off muscle tension within a safe field first, bringing dynamic movement up on two feet afterwards.
